HelperProvider.com: post the job, compare the quotes

Post the job free, get quotes back from providers working your city, and compare them on more than price.

HelperProvider.com is a Philippine services marketplace shaped like a quote board rather than a shop.

The brief

Hiring help around a Philippine home usually happens in a Facebook group or a group chat: a customer posts what they need, strangers reply, and there is no way to tell a careful provider from a confident one. Pricing is the same problem in reverse — a plumbing call-out or an all-around maid can be quoted three ways for the same job, and the customer has nothing to compare them on. A marketplace that fixes this has to do two hard things at once. It has to make a provider legible before any money changes hands, through badges, reviews, service areas and availability. And it has to earn its own keep without letting whoever pays the most look like whoever is best.

What we built

  • Built the catalogue as 40 named categories rather than one search box — House Cleaning, Aircon Repair, Caregiver, Moving / Lipat-Bahay, Online Services, Accounting & Bookkeeping and the rest — grouped in the nav under Home, Repairs, Care and Lifestyle, each with a landing page carrying its own covers list, hiring tips and FAQ accordion.
  • Made the quote request, not a checkout, the main action: describe the job, the location and the schedule; receive quotes from providers serving that area; compare ratings, badges, quote details and response time; then choose and coordinate directly.
  • Opened the request side to providers too — a public board of live customer requests, each carrying its category, its timing, its city, a budget range or Negotiable, how long it has been open and how many quotes it has already drawn.
  • Drew a hard line between earned trust and paid visibility: the site states that verification badges are earned and never bought, that ratings come from genuine customer bookings, and that a customer's exact address stays hidden until a provider is chosen — and every ad unit on the site is labelled SPONSORED.
  • Built the companion mobile app around on-call household help, with a location-aware home screen, an icon grid of helper types, priced service cards, favourites, a cart and a Create Post form for anything the catalogue does not already list.

Inside the platform

01

Forty categories, a page each

The service directory runs from House Cleaning to Accounting & Bookkeeping — 40 in all, each showing how many providers are active in it. Every category has its own page with a services-offered count, a browse-by-city row (Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Taguig, Pasig, Cainta, Antipolo, Cebu City, Davao City, Bacoor), a list of what the work covers, a list of what to check before hiring, and its own FAQ accordion.

02

Post once, compare the quotes

Four steps, stated plainly: post your request, receive quotes from local providers who can do the job, compare ratings, badges, quote details and response time — not just price — then choose and coordinate directly. In the app the same thing is a Create Post form: preferable time set to ASAP, the saved service address pinned on a map, a required service category, the service itself, and a box to describe the job.

03

Provider profiles you can judge

A provider card carries its badges (Verified, Featured, Agency, Active Provider, Complete Profile), the services it lists, the areas it covers, availability chips for Accepts ASAP, Weekends and Evenings, and a pricing note — often Negotiable, since pricing on profiles is a guide and the final figure is agreed between the two parties. Results filter by service, city, provider type (individual, business, agency) and pricing style, and sort by Recommended, Newest, Most Complete, Has Pricing Guide, Has Photos or A–Z.

04

Earned trust, kept apart from paid placement

The trust and safety block says it in one line: verification badges are earned, never bought. Ratings come from genuine customer bookings, concerns can be reported, providers are described as independent individuals or businesses, and a customer's exact address stays hidden until they pick someone. Sponsored and featured slots sit all over the site — and every one of them is labelled.

05

A free storefront, then plans that pay for reach

A provider joins free: a public profile, one category, three services, three service areas, three gallery photos and three lead credits a month. The client's paid tiers add room and tools — Basic at ₱299 a month, Verified at ₱799, Premium at ₱1,499 with AI message templates and analytics, Business at ₱2,999 with unlimited categories. Lead credits are the meter: one credit per quote sent, browsing and messaging free, top-up packs from ₱199 for ten, and the pricing page states there is no commission on the job itself.

06

The app: nearby helpers, priced up front

The promo sheet shows a TestFlight build whose home screen opens on the customer's own location, above a search field, an On-Call Yayas & Babysitters banner and an All Categories grid — Pet Sitters, House Boys, Workers, Trainers, Therapists, Entertainers, Mechanics, Caregivers. Service cards carry a photo, a Starts from rate and a plus to add: ₱300.00 for a cleaner, ₱500.00 for an all-around maid, ₱600.00 for a toddler babysitter, ₱800.00 for a special-needs babysitter. A heart saves one, a Recently Viewed Services screen and a cart badge hold the shortlist, and Post for Customized service opens the request form.

Questions

About this project

Ask us about it

Yes. A marketplace with a category directory, provider profiles, a quote-request flow and an admin panel is a Business build at ₱199,000, live in about 15 working days. Unlimited listings and unlimited users are included, so the bill does not climb as providers and categories are added.

The same way this one does: make joining free. A free profile and free listings remove the reason to say no, and a visible board of open customer requests gives a provider something to look at on day one. Seed the handful of categories you can actually service and widen from there — a directory reads better when the categories it shows have someone behind them.

From the provider side, and from visibility rather than trust. Helper Provider runs a free tier plus paid monthly plans, meters replies with lead credits you can top up, sells featured placement, and labels every sponsored slot. Commission, flat listing fees and lead-only pricing are the other common models. We build the admin controls for whichever you pick, and you can change it later without a rebuild.

By being explicit about what the platform is. Helper Provider describes itself as a discovery and lead-generation platform, says providers are independent individuals or businesses, and states that pricing shown is a guide with the final figure agreed directly and scope settled before work starts. Pair that with a reporting route and a review system, and your role stays discovery rather than delivery. Have your own lawyer check the wording for your market.

The website first, in most cases. It is what search engines index, and a category page per service is where new customers arrive from Google. Pro at ₱149,000 already includes a branded Android app, so you can launch the web marketplace, prove which categories actually draw requests, and put an app in front of the people who are already coming back.
