Paulines: a media ministry, a bookstore and a prayer space on one site

A Catholic media ministry in staging: online store, prayer space, self-completing offerings and fourteen media centres.

Paulines is the Philippines-Malaysia-Thailand Province of the Daughters of St Paul, a congregation whose apostolate is media itself — so the site has to be a bookstore, a chapel and a newsroom at once.

The brief

A congregation that communicates through media needs a site doing several unrelated jobs without feeling like several sites. People arrive to buy a Bible, to watch what the sisters published this month, to ask for a Mass, to discern a vocation, or to find the nearest bookstore — and none of them should have to learn a menu first. The offerings are the harder half. A candle, a bouquet or a Mass intention requested online still ends with something physical happening in a chapel, and a small office cannot chase each request by hand: someone has to be told, a certificate has to reach the sender, and the name has to appear where the family can see it.

What we built

  • Split the navigation by intention rather than by department — About Us, Ministries, Shop, Digital Services, Resources and Give — with search, account and cart pinned beside it, so a shopper and a pilgrim take different paths out of the same header.
  • Built the Official Store as a real catalogue: category filters, a physical-or-digital switch, sorting by featured, price or newest, and a price range, with stock status or instant delivery on every card and pickup at a media centre or nationwide delivery stated on the page.
  • Made each offering — candle, altar flowers, e-Mass Card — a short guided flow that finishes itself: certificate or QR-verified card generated and emailed, the chapel or sacristy list updated, staff notified and the record filed, with an automation panel naming every step that ran.
  • Published the two things families actually want to see back: a Mass Intentions Board grouped by Mass date and a Prayer & Novena Wall showing each program's progress — dedications only, never contact or payment details.
  • Added the recurring and digital layers around the shop — a Devotional Library of instant downloads that are free, priced or pay-what-you-can, monthly subscription plans, and Sponsor-a-Need campaigns that show their own progress bar.

Inside the platform

01

One header for a ministry and a shop

About Us, Ministries, Shop, Digital Services, Resources and Give across the top, with search, sign-in and cart on the right, and two hero buttons — Explore Our Mission and Shop Online — sending the two kinds of visitor in the two directions they came for.

02

Four ministries, four doors

Publishing Apostolate, Multimedia Ministry, Mission in Motion and Vocation & Youth Ministry, each with its own next step instead of a shared 'read more': Browse New Titles, Watch & Listen, Book a Mission, Discover Your Calling.

03

A store that filters like a bookstore

Books, mini-media and posters, religious articles, music and media, plus an all-items / physical / digital switch, sorting by featured, price or newest, and a price range. Every card carries the price and either stock status or instant digital delivery.

04

Offerings that complete themselves

Candles, flowers and e-Mass Cards, each chosen by intention — thanksgiving, healing, memorial, feast day and the rest — then paid, certified and filed automatically. The Mass card is QR-verified, and the pipeline diagram names every step the office no longer does by hand.

05

A chapel you can walk around

The Virtual Candle Chapel renders the Pauline Center chapel in 3D with camera stops from outside the doors through the nave to Our Lady, every flame tied to an offering record you can click to read. The Virtual Flower Altar does the same for bouquets before the altar.

06

Fourteen media centres, searchable

Manila, Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and abroad — Kota Kinabalu, Petaling Jaya and Bangkok — each with address, phone numbers, email, Facebook page and its own opening hours, the Pasay head office flagged as such, counted by region and narrowed by a search box.

Questions

About this project

Ask us about it

A build of this size — store, member accounts, offering flows, public boards and a branch directory — is a Business package at ₱199,000, live in about 15 working days once the content is ready. Unlimited listings and unlimited users are included, so a growing catalogue or a growing supporter list never changes the price.

Yes, and it should. The Paulines shop carries both behind a single physical-or-digital filter: a printed title shows stock status and then ships or waits for pickup, while a PDF or audio file is delivered the moment payment clears. Digital items need no packing, no courier and no inventory, so they earn without adding work.

That is the point of building them as flows rather than forms. One payment generates the certificate or card, emails it, adds the dedication to the right list, notifies the staff who need to act, and files the record. Your team's remaining job is the part that is genuinely theirs — lighting the candle, saying the Mass.

Only if the page is built to show one thing and withhold the rest. Both the Prayer & Novena Wall and the Mass Intentions Board display dedications and program progress and nothing else — no email, no phone number, no payment detail — and each carries a line saying so. The full record stays in the admin panel, where only your staff see it.

Yes. Paulines sits on a staging URL right now, marked as a demo and filled with sample records, and its subscription and offering payment steps run a demo simulator so the team can walk through successful, pending, failed and cancelled outcomes without moving money. You approve the build on staging first; the real catalogue and the live gateway are switched on at launch.
